Old Forest Ecosystem Study Unit
Lesson Plans for Teachers
(Abridged Version)

Prepared by Jackie Morris
Box 1458, Revelstoke BC V0E 2S0

In the Columbia Basin, old forests are disappearing rapidly. Along with them we risk losing the diversity of life that makes up the old forest ecosystem. The Old Forest Ecosystem Study Unit shows teachers how to lead their classes through all the concepts needed to understand and appreciate these magnificent forests, and the creatures that live in them.

Print copies of the entire the Old Forest Ecosystem Study Unit, including 128 pages of text, overhead transparencies, a poster, and a class set of coloured brochures about British Columbia's biogeoclimatic zones, were distributed to school district resource centres throughout the Columbia Basin in September, 1999.
